About

What is Action Shooting?

Action shooting is basically target shooting with movement. There are three elements to the sport.

DVC
Diligentia – Vis – Celeritas
Accuracy – Power – Speed

Diligentia (Accuracy)
Paper targets have scoring zones. Steel targets are reactive and fall over when shot. Misses, failure to follow instructions and “No shoot” target hits register as penalty points.

Vis (Power)
Full power loads are required for WRAS shooting.

Celeritas (Speed)
The fastest gun wins! A timer registers the total elapsed time from start signal until the last shot.

Scoring
Your score is in points per second. That is your total score from all hits in each target divided by the total time it took you to shoot the stage.

Course of Fire
The courses of fire are as varied as the Match Director’s imagination. Entrants are required to shoot targets while negotiating any number of obstacles. This is where the fun is in the sport because you never know what you will face when you come to a match.

Rules
International Practical Shooting Confederation ( IPSC ) competition rules apply.
